2010 EVENTS AT PINECREST

SUNDAY, MARCH 28 - 5TH ANNUAL RUSTY OPEN
This is a 4 person scramble to help shake off the rust of our long winter.  The event will go off the first tee unless we get 36 teams, and then it will be a shotgun start.  The fee is $69 per person (pass holders pay $50).  The cost includes range balls before, golf, cart, a lunch buffet after, awards for the top teams, and 1 person will win 10 weekday rounds of golf.  Play will be from the white tees, with closest to the pin contests on each par 3.  Awards for gross score will be given to the top teams, with the event flighted to give all teams a chance to win.  Get a group together and enjoy the fresh air.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11 & THURSDAY, AUGUST 12-
THE MCHENRY COUNTY SENIOR AND SUPER SENIOR AMATEUR

This will mark the 14th anniversary of this event.  This event is open to anyone who is at least 50 years old by August 13th, 2010 and lives or plays in McHenry County.  The Senior will be for those 50-59 years old, and the Super Senior for those 60 and older.  It is a 2 day stroke play event, flighted by USGA approved handicaps.  New for 2010: Tee times will be started with a shotgun start at 8:00am both days.  We felt this way all participants will finish around the same time and create a better tournament atmosphere on the patio when the scores are being turned in.  You will be paired according to your flight.  The cost is $78 (season pass holders $26). The fee includes 2 rounds of golf, range balls each day, and prizes. Carts are optional.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 - THE "LILLY" FALL SCRAMBLE
This is a 4 person scramble that always includes a twist.  The event will tee off of the 1st tee starting after our last permanent tee time group. Permanent tee time groups will be allowed to play in their time slot.  The entry fee for this event is $79 per person (pass holders only $59).  The cost includes golf, cart, prize fund, hot dog and chips at the turn, and closest to the pin events on the par 3’s.  Prizes will be awarded for both gross and net, with the net scores calculated with the Peoria Handicap system.  Play will be in eightsomes.  There is a Senior Division.  To qualify, the ages of the foursome must add up to 200 or higher.  The “senior” teams will play only against each other.  The Lilly is always fun and a great way to enjoy a team concept in golf.

 DATE NOT YET DETERMINED
THE DIE HARD CROSS COUNTRY SCRAMBLE
Our premier event.  This is a 4 person scramble played on a course that goes cross country.  In 2010, for the first time ever, the course is set up as 14 holes, with most holes different on the back than they were on the front.  The 14-hole format will help with the time it takes to play the event (we are hoping for around 5 hours instead of what had become a 6 hour round).  We will have a shotgun start at 9:00.  The fee for this event is $100 per person (same for pass holders).  That cost includes a breakfast and lunch buffet, golf & cart (none of the $100 entry fee goes for golf or cart), awards for all team members in each flight (in other words, everybody wins something), and an optional $20 per team cash skins game.  The catch to this event is that all gift certificates won (and there are many) must be used that day in the Pro Shop.  It is our way of clearing out our inventory.  As in 2009, we will do away with the Peoria handicap portion of the scoring and add flights, so you could conceivably finish 13th overall but win B Flight.  We will explain how all of that will work the day of the event.   If you have not played in this before, ask anyone who has, and we are sure they will highly recommend it.

2 SENIOR SCRAMBLES - TUESDAY, APRIL 27 & TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12
It was so fun for the participants in the fall of 2009, we scheduled 2 for 2010.  It is a four person scramble.  Picking of teams will be by blind draw in the clubhouse at 8:30, with a shotgun start at 9:00.  The fee is $35 ($25 for pass holders) that includes golf, cart, a hot dog and chips after the event, range balls before, and prizes for the gross and net winning teams (net scores will be determined by the Peoria handicap system).  There will be a closest to the pin contest on each of the par 3’s.  This event is only open to men and women who are 50 years old or older.  Men 50-59 years old will tee off of our modified blue tees, men 60-69 years old will tee off of our modified white tees, and men 70 and older will tee off of the red tees.  All women will play from the red tees.  When teams are drawn, we will attempt to put one player from each age group on each team.  Sign up, as you are sure to have fun in this event.

IF INTERESTED IN ANY OF THESE EVENTS, OR WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT AN EVENT OR TWO, PLEASE CALL 847-669-3111.
